Open same program in new window

How do I open multiple windows of the same program in XP. For example, I
want to open two windows of MS Word. When I try to open two windows, the
program starts once, and INSIDE MS Word the two documents are opened. Same
thing goes for Windows Media Player. How can I open 2 sessions of this
program??

Some programs won't let you open more than one instance of it. I'll assume
WMP is one of them as it uses your sound card to play sound and if the
device is in use already another instance of it would not work correctly.
For word:
Tools, options, view tab, check: windows in taskbar.

That is entirely dependant on the program.
i.e. MS Word and WMP, you can't.
i.e. Internet Explorer, you can.

However, with Word you can tile the windows.

Open to Word docs, right click the Taskbar and select:
Tile Windows Horizontally
or
Tile Windows Vertically

Windows that are reduced to taskbar buttons will not be displayed.

To restore your windows to their previous state, right-click an empty area
on the taskbar, and then click Undo Cascade or Undo Tile.

I cannot find this in Office 97.

In Windows 98 I can open both Word and WMP in new windows. Now that I have
XP it doesn’t work. Any ideas???

I was incorrect with Word. You can open more than one instance of
winword.exe (10.0.6612.0). However, you can only open one instance of
wmplayer.exe (9.0.0.2980). You can, however, open two instances of
mplayer2.exe (6.4.9.1125). I have *no* idea about Word97.

mplayer2.exe is in >>
C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player
