Open Report in Design View

Seems to run the query? Is this normal?
 
When I open a report in Design View, it seems to run the
underlying query as if I ran a preview. Why would it
need to run the query to open in design view and is there
a way around this? :0)
 
In design view (I think), the query is run to get the available fields so you
can select them for the source of the controls. This is especially true if you
are using a cross-tab query.

One thing you can do is to pre-define the fields that are returned by the
crosstab query.
