Quattro pro is "over my head" but I see a help screen in XL (Off2000)
that seems to address the converter question. Perhaps XP is
different(?).
Try rereading the OP's *EXACT* question.
Now reread XL2K online help, specifically the topic titled "File format
converters supplied with Microsoft Excel" in the section titled "Other
spreadsheet programs and databases". Note that that section only mentions
..WQ1, .WB1, .WB2 and .WB3 files. None of these is the .QPW file format.
There's no difference between XL2K and XL2002 (or I'd bet XL2003) in this
respect: none support the .QPW file format.
You need to notice the details.
I used "Converter" in the search and one of the choices was ""Switch
from Quattro Pro", wherein they discuss and have further links.
My only experience with non-XL formats was with Lotus 123 formats, which
I had no problem with.
You probably converted from 123R5 or prior to Excel. Excel has no problems
with 123R5's .WK4 file format. But 123R5 is now VERY OLD software. There
have been 6 32-bit versions of 123 released since the late 1990s. All of
them use a newer file format that uses a '.123' file extension. Guess what
Excel doesn't support?
