Open Prompt Not Responding

When ever I am using a x86 based program on my copy of x64 Vista Ultimate and
enter the open prompt the program hangs and the title bar states that the
program is "not responding" and I need to force close. I haven't yet
activated the program so I can't go to Microsoft Support, so I was just
wondering if anyone else is encountering this, and if so have they stumbled
onto a situation.

What program? Are you sure it's 32-bit and not 16-bit? The latter will not
run in an x64 environment, there is no support for it.

I have the same issue - in Vista Business. my open and often times
SAVE dialoguie boxes hang. It sucks...

Same issue here with Vista Business. Upgraded from XP SP2 in a
domain. Any ideas on why the Open and Save dialogue boxes freezes
forcing an end task? This happens often with IE7 and QuickBooks.
