Open printer dialog by default

Is there a way to open the printer (choice) dialog by default instead of
sending output directly to the printer?

As it stands now, I set up my reports to open in Preview mode and have a
print button on a custom toolbar. Since the print button sends output
directly to the default printer, users must press Ctrl-P to get the printer
dialog to open.

you can put a "Print" button on the toolbar (or on a menu or shortcut menu)
to open the print dialog. the only way i found to get the "right" button was
to drag it from the File menu, and drop it onto the custom toolbar.
*but be careful* - make sure you hold down the Ctrl key, and see the little
+ sign by your mouse pointer BEFORE you drop. otherwise, you'll remove the
Print option from the File menu, instead of copying it.
you'll know you have the "right" print option when the tooltip for that
button on your custom toolbar shows
Print (Ctrl+P)

Thank you.

FYI: It doesn't show the Ctrl-P on the tooltip, just Print, but it works
correctly. (Access 2003)

you're welcome, glad it worked for you. :)
i tested it on an A2000 db running in Acess 2003, so i guess there's the
difference.
