Open previous explorer windows on startup

When I first installed Win2000 Pro, it used to remember any open
Explorer windows (not I.E.) while shutting down and open them
automatically on next startup/login (just like WinXP does). It
doesn't do that any more, and I can't find where I can change that
setting. Anyone know where that setting is?

Thanks.

I've got the same problem. What might have caused it may be the later Service Packs, but I'm guessing. I've got Win 2K at home too and it does remember the previous explorer windows

Create and set the Reg_Dword value
"PersistBrowsers"=1
located at
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

Dave, I tried PersistBrowsers=1 (DWORD), but it didn't work. (I've
seen this tip being given to WinXP users. I'm using Win2000).
Any other ideas?

To H. Debs

Judging from the time that has passed since your response, no one else has posted any ideas, and Microsoft has not chimed in yet. I have not had a solution to the problem (Win 2K pro at work, upgraded).

At home, it still remembers prior open explorer windows (Win 2K pro, not upgraded from original install)
