Can open office open PowerPoint files.
I have PowerPoint viewer 2007 but can't open PowerPoint files forwarded to
me. I get error message email not a valid 32 bit application

It sould like you have a setup problem for the MS viewer or the PP
file is corrupt but, eys, OpenOffice was done fine every time I have
used it.

Make sure you are using the latest version.

Google Docs says it can do it, also. (docs.google.com)

AFAIK , you have to save them first and then view them .
 
Thanks for both of your replies.
I have saved them in a folder on C:\ drive.
When I use PowerPoint viewer it does not recognize them as PowerPoint files
in that folder.
