RC2 had a definite lag before loading on my machine, and I found this
annoying.

I just downloaded ver 1.1 RC3 and ran it. Is it just me, or does it load
instantly, just like MS Office apps?

I'm happy as a clam with OOo. All I can ask for now is a PPS viewer and OCR.

I downloaded RC3 and it feels faster. But I changed to Mb's used by OOo
from 9 to 30 and that could also be the difference. It is a lot faster now.

Much faster in Linux too :)

Huh? The OCR I agree with, but PPS? I don't have M$ Office, so when my
stepdaughter sends her PPS files to view, we always use OOo to open
them. I've found that OO handles them even better than does Corel's
Presentations, part of the WordPerfect suite.

Jeroen, how did you go about doing so? I mean, changing the Mb's used by
OOo? I'm using XP.

You mean OOo had a PPS viewer? When I launch a PPS, it opens in the
pps editor. That's highly inconvenient.

Sorry, my mistake. I thought you meant it didn't have a Powerpoint
equivalent. It's never bothered me that pps files are opened in the
editor. I should have read your post more carefully.
