Open new IE window closes old one

I can only run one instance of IE (latest ver) at a time.
When I try open a new one (even by clicking open new
window under file menu), it closes the old one and takes
its place. It is very irritating.. PLEASE contact me via
email if you know what could be causing the problem...?

From Control Panel> Internet Options> Advanced uncheck "Enable third party
browser extensions." If that allows IE to run, then search for and remove
malware:

You can re-enable browser extensions after the cleanup.

Just saw in another post that Yahoo! companion may have
something to do with it - haven't tried it out yet,
though. What do you guys think?
 
Ouch! I hate when that happens...
My reply to you belongs with another question. The tip about Yahoo companion
is MUCH more likely to help. If not Yahoo companion, look for another
program that's trying to prevent pop-up windows.
