Open new form command

Hi.
I'm embarrassed to ask with all you experts out there but here goes!
I want to to have a button on a form to open a new form to enter more data
relating to that record.
The wizard lets me go through the whole process than when I click on the
button in FormView there's an error.
Syntax errir (missing operator) in query expression '[xx]='
That's if I choose "Open the form and find specific date to display
If I choose the other option "Open the form and show all records" it works.
Thing is I just want to fill in more details of the person but on a seperate
form that I can link together. I won't work if I put the whole lot in one
table coz it'll still ask me to choose a form for the button to open. Have I
lost the plot?
Should the form I want to open have say the name of the person?

Why do you need two forms to enter your data?

Can't it all fit on one? Have you thought of adding tabs to your form so
each tab contains certain type of data baout the person?

It's just my boss wanted buttons. doh!
