Hi Sean,
1. Open a link.
2. Don't use the maximize button.
3. Stretch the edges/corners so that the window fills the screen.
4. Close all other IE windows.
5. Close the stretched window last.
However, the above procedure is not equivalent to SHOWMAXIMIZED API call.
Best option is to use "IE New Window maximizer"

I want to be able to open a new explorer window from a
web page and have the newly open page to be maximized.
Without having to right click and hit maximized. How do i
do this? Thanks
