open link in new window--size is always small

When I open a link in a new window (or a link in a page is
defined to open a new window), the size of that window is
always very small, meaning that I have to do an extra
mouse click to maximize the window every time. Most apps
remember the size of the last opened window, but Explorer
on my machine is not doing this.

How can I get Explorer to open new windows maximized by
default?

Open only one IE window.
Drag the edges to the size you want it to be (do not use
the maximize button !).
Close the window.
Next time IE will remember the window size...
