Open in new window function

I would like IE to open maximized each time I use
the "open in new window" right-click menu item.

It seems to be quite random as to the size and shape that
appears, so something is writing a value somewhere -- the
question is, where? and what do I do about it?

Open such a link.
Don't use the maximize button.
Stretch the edges/corners so that the window fills the screen.
Close all other IE windows.
Close the stretched window.

Windows remembers the size of the last IE window closed.
