Open IE7 shortcuts maximized

I've recently upgraded a few of my XP machines from IE6 to IE7

All works fine but the desktop shortcuts cannot be made to stay maximized
when opened.

I have tried using the F11 key and also holding the control key
and the shortcuts will open maximimized *however* once I open IE7 directly
(not from a shortcut)
then all maximized settings are lost .

Anyway to make the maximized setting stick?
 
Here is something you can try.

1. Open your shortcut and maximize the browser window.
2. Hold down the "CTRL" key while you close the window.

If you open the same shortcut again it should be maximized.

Yes. that works just fine.
the short cut will stay maximized
until I open IE7 directly (no shortcut)
then the short cut maximization is lost.

This is not a mjor big deal...but it's bugging me that I cannot figure it
out...
I am usually pretty good at figuring things out...
but not this time !
