Hi ...it's been a while since I've asked for any help, maybe because I was
offline for almost 2 yrs....yet during that time I learned a considerable
amount of info regarding hardware...specially after I fried my nvidia
G-force TI 4000....and until I can regroup my finances, I am hoping you can
help resolve this problem for me. I have an Intel Plll 800 MHZ chip and I
am using an NEC MultiSync XV15 monitor. I had to fall back to my voodoo 5
card and just yesterday windows updates uploaded a new(?) 3DFX driver.
However I am stopped cold from playing most of my favorite games. Ill paste
a chunk of the message I keep getting, (and I went to.....some site where
they supposedly have all the open gl drivers etc., but to no avail. Ok here
it is (and thanks even if you cannot offer a solution)!

Load a restore point previous to the installation of the new video
drivers then disable the automated installation of device drivers in
Windows Update...

The Voodoo doesn't support OpenGL on XP - it barely supported it before then
when 3dfx were in business. It was always provided by a "minigl" file which
never got updated* for Windows XP.

*Unless it was done by a 3rd party.

Paul thanks for the info....so I'm done in eh? One would think there could
be a "work around it" solution instead of just leaving us out to dry on the
line (so to speak)

Yes Katy, as a matter of fact I'd done that before, but I had to give you
the respect as well as the benefit of the doubt. still no luck

I did not find any link that could help more sorry. You could try
asking on forums like those at guru3d, I'm afraid the Voodoo will
simply not run with XP unfortunately :-(
