Open GL problems II

Hi, I've been trying to play "Alone In The Dark 4" on WinXP, but I get the
message "alone requires Open GL acceleration, refer to README for further
information", and the game doesn't load.
I'm no computer expert in the least, but I've been checking my system and
apparently it does have Open GL acceleration, but for some reason the game
doesn't load.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks!

Open GL drivers are provided by the video card manufacturer. Do you have the
latest on your system?

To test Open GL go here www.realtech-vr.com and download their free software
Open GL Extension Viewer and see if it can provide any relevant info.

Hi Jerry,
Thanks for replying. I downloaded the viewer and it seems I have only some
features of this Open GL thing, and one of the worst things I think the
program found was that "your hardware DOES NOT support Open GL acceleration".
I don't really understand what this means... Other than it won't let me play
the game....
I tried to download a controller from NVIDIA for my video card, thinking
that this might help, but when I try to install it, I get a message that
Windows can't find the "Windows XP logo", and it prompts me to stop the
installation. Since it says very bad things can happen, I never installed
it.....
Any suggestions will be welcome..... Thanks again. : )

Hi M,

Newer drivers will give you that Windows Logo error message,
simply because they haven't gone through the full authentication
process yet, however 99.99% of the times, the driver is fine.

Go ahead and update your Nvidia driver. If you don't like the
results, we can always use the Rollback driver feature of XP.

Hi Jimmy,
I'll do that. I read about the authentication process, but I was still
afraid of what could happen. Anyway,if you say I can trust the driver, I'll
go for it. And just in case, I also have GoBack, which has helped me
before......
Thanks! : )
