Hi

I was wondering if someone could give me some help. I am
looking at a way so that when I am in a program and go to
File -> Open the list will default itself to show in a
particular order (example : Date Modified in Decending
Order in Details view).

This is for both Office, and non-microsoft products.

Thanks

I can not speak for non-Microsoft products, it really depends on if they use their own dialog or Comdlg32.dll/Comctrl32.dll.
In the Office applications you should be able to right click in the Open dialog, select "Arrange icons by" and then select the
method you want. This setting should stay but it will be global to all the applications, for example: If you went into Word,
change "Arrange icons by" from Name to Type. When you go into Open from Excel it will also have "Arrange icons by" set
to Type.
