Hello,

Does someone know how to open an excel file using the IE (hyperlink)? I
mean, instead of open the excel file inside of Internet Explorer, when you
click on the link it starts the Excel in a separate window...

Thank you in advandced!

The only way to do that would be to Zip the Excel file to force it to be downloaded to the viewer's machine, then they'd have to save it & un-Zip it so they could use it in their own separate instance of Excel.

Add a note to the link, saying Right Click and choose Save Target As
(this is for IE users, other users the file will download anyway).
There is a registry change that will force the file to download - this
must be done on all your users' PCs.
There is an ASP script that will also force the excel file to
download, if you are hosted on a Windows server.
Sorry, I do not have links for the last 2 methods.

Only for user PC's willing to change their registry (as in an intranet) see
