Hi Terry
You don't mention the version of Windows you are using, which really is a
must when asking for help in the newsgroups, nor why you need to have the
two IE icons to open IE in different windows, but, try the following as it
may apply to your OS and see if it helps:
Go to Tools> Internet Options> Advanced.
Uncheck "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts".
This will allow each new session to open in a new window by clicking only
one IE icon.
If you have any 3rd party toolbars such as Google, MSN or Yahoo, disable
them. If you have Yahoo Companion, uninstall it. If you have any 3rd party
software, firewalls, popup or ad blockers, disable them. Earthlink (or
another pop-up blocker) My IE2 (a shell for IE) etc.
Yahoo Companion is a very common cause of preventing new windows from
opening.
Also..create a shortcut for the Desktop pointing to Iexplore.exe in the
Windows Explorer (not IE). Clicking that one shortcut will always open a
new window.
Hope this helps.

How to make a good newsgroup post:
http://www.dts-l.org/goodpost.htm
I have two IE icons on the desktop that I need to open in two different
windows; unfortunately I do not know how to set IE or the icon to do this.
I know in FrontPage I can tell a link to open in a new window, but that is
not what I'm looking for, In Foxfire browser I can set it open in a new
window under options then tabs.
I appreciate any help
