open application button not working

I've created a form, which has on it, a button that, when
clicked on, is supposed to open an application. When I
make it open Powerpoint, it works just fine. I have an
application called "learnstar" When I try and make it
open Learnstar, the application fails to launch
correctly. It also doesn't launch correctly if I try and
launch it via a hyperlink in and Office XP application.
I vaguely remember reading something about "illegal
characters" in this kind of scripting...can anybody help?

Try using ShellExecute:

In your OnClick event of your command button call the
function, passing it the path\filename (as a "string")of
your application:

fHandleFile(PathFilename)
