Hi-

W98se/IE6/Outlook2002/OE6.

When opening links within my mail client (Outlook2002) and certain other
applications, the Google page only opens to the size of the window I am
using at that time.

There does not seem to be a process whereby I may "Run maximized" when I
access properties (either directly on the executable, or the shortcut I have
made for it.) for IE. Neither the direct desktop icon, nor the "shortcut"
for it offers that Run size dropdown list. The only thing visible in the
shortcut properties are a general tab, and a web document tab. Neither has
an option for the "Run" size. For my "homepage", I do have that possibility
however.

This is a pain, as after such a smaller window opens, I must drag the edges
to the desired size again and again.

What have I overlooked?

Thanks-

Frank,

I've never tried that before; I'll see if it works to keep things inline.
Meanwhile, do you know why there is not the option of "run" choices for IE
(direct or shortcut) that I mentioned?

Regards,

1. Open a link.
2. Don't use the maximize button.
3. Stretch the edges/corners so that the window fills the screen.
4. Close all other IE windows.
5. Close the stretched window last.

However, the above procedure is not equivalent to SHOWMAXIMIZED API call.
Best option is to use "IE New Window maximizer"

http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=1746
(Uses Windows API calls and automatically maximizes every browser window you
open)

Ramesh,

Thanks for the input and the link. I just might try the software, although I
try to avoid adding too much extra stuff to the PC to perform a simple
function. That being what it may, I just might have to cave-in and get this
one.

BTW, this problem that I mentioned seems mostly confined to Outlook 2002
when I am composing an E-mail, and checking the link I add to the message.

Regards as well,

There is no method to invoke the SHOW_MAXIMIZED function without a
third-party software. The workaround is to manually resize the window, close
it.
