open a link in a new window opens the page in the parent window

When I try to open a link out of my favorites in a new IE-window it will
always be opened in the parent-window. Can anybody help me fixing this bug?

Are you using the Favourites window in IE? Or are you going to Start -->
Favourites. If you are using the latter then that is what the problem is.
You should use the Favourites menu in IE.

Do you have "reuse windows for launching shortcuts" checked in Tools \
Internet Options \ advanced tab?
