Hello all,

For some reason, when I right click on an image (JPEG mostly) it no longer
gives me the option to open with Photoshop (as it used to). I've tried to
right click on the image and go to "Open With" but Photoshop isn't listed
with those program choices. I've even gone to "Choose Program" and it's
still not listed in those program choices. I've then gone to the next step
of browsing to Photoshop on my hard drive (Program files-Photoshop) and
clicking Photoshop from my program files, but nothing happens. After I click
"Open" with "Photoshop" it just goes back to the list of programs that was
originally listed in the "choose which program you want to open this file"
menu.

To be able to use Photoshop I have to open Photoshop first and then choose
open from Photoshop and browse to the image I want to work with. It works
that way, but it's much easier to do it the way I used to able to.

I have Photoshop 6 and XP Home as my operating system.

Thanks for any help !!!

Hi, rball.

Maybe you need to go one click deeper. ;<)

When you get to Choose Program, click the Browse... button below the list of
programs. Then navigate to your Photoshop folder (probably C:\Program
Files\Adobe\Photoshop) and click on the executable file (maybe
Photoshop.exe). And don't forget to check the Always use... box.

R.C.,

Thanks for the reply, but I've done that. When I click the Photoshop
executable file nothing happens. The screen goes back to the programs list I
CAN choose from (and Photoshop is still not listed there).

Any other ideas...

THANKS AGAIN.

YES, why? This never used to be a problem, but for some reason it just
started acting this way (for the last few days).

I had the same problem but it was with Adobe's Acrobat not opening pdf's. A graphic guru friend said it could be a few things. First, another program has been installed and now owns the format. Next, you have some kind of bot or trojan or virus. Well, after running everything I could to remove stuff, I reinstalled Acrobat and it worked. Try that before pulling your hair out. Or figure out what you did a few days ago when it started and remove that or do a system restore to that date. Hope this helps.
