Hello all,

Is it possible to Open an Access form outside of the MS Access application
window? Or does that work with the runtime only? It is basically for the
sole purpose of giving the access app a more professional look

Thanks,
L.

The runtime has nothing to do with it. Any form with its Popup property set
to True can be dragged outside the main Access window.

Ms-access uses what is called MDI (Multiple document interface). Word,
Excel, and in fact most of ms-office works with a "main" window, and then a
bunch of child windows. Since word and excel work this way..I not sure that
this makes these applications un-professional.

And...no..the runtime does not change the fact that ms-access works like the
rest of ms-office, and uses the MDI interface.

You can certainly spruce up your application..and make it look more
"windows" like. I have some screen shots of some ms-access stuff here, and
it seems to look ok to me...

Thank you gentlemen, although I didn't finde the information I was looking
for. What I was trying to find out is that, I know I had encountered an
access application that was constructed so the forms were run outside of the
Application window (not necessarily dragged), but cannot remember where and
who had buitl the example (almost VB look alike). I *assumed* the runtime
would not show the access window, since it's not a full installation, but I
guess I have never worked with the run time so I was not sure. Either way,
I'll see if there's any APIs or similiar things I can use to reach my goal.
Thanks again
