Open 2 different files simultaneously to compare

Thanks for you help Glen. I find it interesting that new
versions of Office software remove useful features of
previous editions while adding features that may or not
be useful. I also find that the help no longer helps
much. It is a navigation nightmare.

You've never been able to run more than one instance of PowerPoint. MS hasn't
removed anything in that department. But perhaps the defaults are different
for the Tools, Options, View Tab, "Windows in Taskbar" feature. If checked,
that allows PowerPoint to *appear* as though there are multiple instances of
itself in the task bar. Give that a try.
I also find that the help no longer helps

Amen to that.

Is there a way to have these two instances scroll simultaneously? That is,
if I want to compare the two for content, can I select a slide one from one
presentation and the corresponding slide will appear in the other
presentation? Currently, if I look at one slide in one presentation, the
other presentation will have a different slide.

It'd be possible to code something like this in VBA but there's no built-in way of
doing it that I'm aware of, just the Mousynchronization Mambo:

Click on one side, press PageDown. Click on the other side, press PageDown.
