for some reason I am not able to keep the settings for my
email account. When I shut the pc off at nite, the next
morning all my email settings are gone, so I have to go
back to tools, service/account tabs and then go to
servers and the advance tabs to correct the situation.

Any idea what is wrong, I get kind of tired fixing it
each time, and am afraid I am loosing emails in the
process.

If you don't have administrator rights on that PC that
could be the problem. If you are on a pc at work, there
could be a policy that is not allowing you to do so.
