I have accidentaly removed office from my computer and
although I tried a system restore it still wants to use
the office 2000 cd when re-installing word. Thing is..i
don't have that cd anymore? Still have the original XP cd
but that doesn't seem to help.

Well it wouldn't, would it? Office has NEVER been part of Windows. You
are either going to have to find the CD or buy another.

Greetings --

You can't reinstall Office without the Office installation CD.

If it was a retail license and you have proof of purchase:

If it was an OEM license, you should contact whomever sold you the
PC.

Sounds like your copy of Office XP is an upgrade version, in which case the
Office install program expects to see proof of a previous version. Since you
no longer have your Office 2000 CD, you are out of luck. You'll have to
purchase a full version of Office XP.
