hi all.
heres a prob, im not sure its posted in the right group, but here goes.

girlfriend had a very importaint study folder on the laptop, i, of course,
formatted the drive, re-installed xp, and then partitioned the drive into c,
and d drives.
question is, is there any software to recover this file?
or am i in the doghouse....

At this point it'd take less time to recreate the folder. You could buy
some software that scans the whole surface looking for data fragments, and
that's what you'd likely end up with at best, only fragments of files, not
useable files, if the whole thing wasn't completely overwritten by
installing XP and usage thereafter.

So the short answer is "no".

You best bet is to leave town and find a new girl friend..old one has
a contract on you now :-)
