I have deleted my outlook.pst file by accident and it is not in my recycle
bin. is there any way of getting it back or can i do a clean install of
outlook to make it work again.

Try a search on your system for "Outlook.pst" just in case. If that can not
find it, there are a couple of commercial undelete programs you can try.

If the pst contents (mail, addresses, calendar, etc.) was of no value to you
and you just want to create a new pst file, go to control panel and double
click mail. Click on your profile and then properties, click on data files,
click on add. This will get you into your default location for pst files.
You can just create a new outlook.pst file here.

Even on home pc's backup can be essential, as you just witnessed. You might
want to spend a couple of hundred bucks in an external drive and some
backup/image software. That way you can retrieve data when you accidentally
loose it.

Thanks for the help. Its very appreciated

For a home user or someone who wants to backup their PST MS put out a tool
called pfbackup - and it works well.

It can be scheduled to perform the back up at certain times. Bascially it
just copies your pst to some place else that you want (like an external drive
as StaarTech mentioned)

Hello,

EASEUS DataRecoveryWizard utility can help. Speaking about me, it was
easily able to restore deleted, lost file and unformat drive,
so I think you will also find it quite useful. Really recommended
tool, give it a try.
