Hi All
Wife has been using a Dell laptop that I got working with a new fan and RAM and a spare 2.5 HDD. It still overheats and crashes if left on for more than 30min so I intend to buy her a new one for 42nd wedding anniversary on 3rd August.
She only ever uses it for Internet and I can use XP from the old one. Have seen a Novatech for £279.
Any advice most welcome

That's the one! Will use XP disk from the old Dell and she loves the games.

I would advise on giving them a call fisr to see if XP is compatable with that machine. Would be a bummer to purchase it and find you are stuck for drivers....
 
Microsoft Windows 7 32Bit & 64Bit, Microsoft Windows Vista 32Bit & 64Bit, Microsoft Windows XP 32Bit (only) SP2 compliant :thumb:

Actually a shame not to use Win7 home premium 64bit, but if you got a "spare"OS then go ahead.

Bought the Novatech Xplora (delivered next day) but could not install XP - tried different disks but always got STOP:0xc0000034. Linux Mint was OK but wife wouldn't like it. Installed my only Windows 7 (32 bit) OK as a temporary measure and ordered another copy but before I read your reply re 64 bit version. However well satisfied with it and wife will love it.

32 bit iss good enough if it is just for browsing in my book. Glad you happy..
