Is the cell formatted as text? If it is, change the formatting to General.
It may not update automatically so you may have to click in the formula bar
and hit enter for the formatting change to take effect.

My spreadsheet only shows the below formula and not the
result. I know this might not be an app error but I can
not figure out why it is only showing the result. The
interesting thing is that I can open a new spreadsheet and
paste the formula in a cell. And result appears.

The Formula box is unchecked under Tools Options View
Tab. The spreadsheet is not protected.

Does anyone have other ideas why a cell would only display
the formula not the result of the formula. Help.

=IF(A2>100,"One Hundred","Not")

Thanks
..

Select the cell with the "bad" formula, then:
<Ctrl> <Shift> <~>(tilde)
Then,
<F2> <Enter>

Because the cell has been formatted as text.

Try deleting it, changing the formatting, then plugging it back in. Or
quicker to copy and paste a working formula in there, then press delete over
it, and enter the correct formula.

Hi Robert
you may check the format of this cell. goto 'Format - Cells' and check
if it is set to 'Text'. If yes change it to 'General' and re-enter your
formula

Robert, is the cell formatted as text?
