Only Admin Can Print?

We're in the process of upgrading a bunch of user machines to Win2K. I add
printers via script no problem. There are a few local printers, but the
drivers are all part of the image, so there's no issue there.

However, only the administrator can seem to print to them.

If a Restricted User tries to print to it, it seems to either hang in the
spool after 4 bytes, or it flies thru the spool, but no pages come out.

This behavior does not affect the administrator, so I have to assume there
is some bizarre rights issue I'm missing out on.

Does anyone have any troubleshooting pointers?

Thanks in advance.

Ensure that the user's account (or a group they are members of) have the
Print permission on the printer.

Also, ensure that the special account "CREATOR OWNER" has Manage Documents
permission on the printer.

I am convinced this is now a Lexmark printer issue and not a Win2K
issue, since the HPs in the organization seem to print just fine over
a USB connection using the same image.

Indeed it was. The restricted user apparently didn't have rights to the
LEXMARK key in HKLM\Software and granting those rights allowed the users to
print.

Thanks to HP printers for functioning correctly and making me look at the
specific manufacturer, and to Winternals for RegMon which let me see the
ACCDENIED registry keys...
