Using the "Add Network Place" tool within XP's "My Network Places" window I
can create a shortcut icon to logging into an FTP server with a given set of
credentials. If however I create another one of these icons and supply it
with a different server username/password it appears to still use the first
set. Is this expected ?

Someone with expertise in doing what you are doing will have to help you
with that since I've never tried to access FTP sites from Network
Places. My suggestion is for you to use an FTP client instead. I
particularly like FTP Commander which is simple and free.

Thanks for the "alternatives",
I think that what I've reported may fall into 'bug' category...
the alternative clients are handy for others to know about too.

If you are saying that the Username and Password from the first site auto
populates the login screen then that appears to be normal. On mine it does
that and when I change it to the correct essentials and log in, after I exit
then access the other site it has the old info. So to me it just looks like
it remembers the last logged on user.

True, but it doesn't allow you to change that user. I had two user accounts
userA & userB both setup to log into site FTPsite,
even though I was logging in using the Icon/shortcut created by the wizard
for UserB, I was actually being logged in as userA, and furthermore, only
userA's name was stored in the registry under the FTP connections.
