For AV scan You might also try:

I don't know about detection ratings, but it wouldn't hurt to use more than
one FREE scanner. Altho, I think the Housecalls link in the other email is
probably the Fastest of the bunch. IMHO, anyway.

And while you are at it, Check these out for more FREE online "security"
checkers.

Thank you all for your replys. I tried the recommended solutions, and while
husecall had a pretty good detection ratio, it was unable to disinfect files
in use. Panda activescan had a perfect detection ratio (I hope) and was able
to clean everything it found I recommend it to anyone looking for a free a-v
solution.

Why do I have the feeling you are connected with Panda? Seems to me someone
with a virus would be a little more panicky than what you have displayed in
your posts.

I am in no way connected with Panda, the answer is simple: the virus is not
on my PC, but on some on some PCs at my college :)

Sultan, did you walk to work today or bring your lunch?

McAfee has a subsciber on-line scan service for drives. Dunno if it's
free or not since I don't use or recommend that sort of thing. But the
McAfee scan engine is top notch. One thing I definitely do recommend
is the use of single file upload av scanning. For that you can't beat
Kaspersky.
