Hello
I was wondering can someone give me advice about what program should I
use as Online timer on my PC?

I need something small, because it's necessary to run smoothly on one of
my old machines.

TIA

Here is a very small but useful one.

A small display can be moved to any location on the screen or turned off,
will show time per session or total time since last reset.(which you can set
to daily,
weekly, etc)

I'm using "magitime" ( www.geocities.com/magistone ). It's seamless
and quite configurable. Used it on Win98 and now on XP.

I've taken the URL off the 'about' screen and it may be outdated.

Hi,

What did you find when you compared several of these programs? Which
had particularly rich features, simple interfaces, low resource
requirements, ...?

Thanks,
BillR

I have found a program, developed in Croatia (I live there). Since it doesn't
cost too much, I paid for it (40Kn). So....I cannot help you with this.

Sounds like you want a bandwidth throttler. But here are similar progs.

- Parent's Friend
Monitor internet surfing, disallow por0 images, password protect
programs, log program usage, limit time for programs and/or internet
surfing, and more. When time limit is reached, terminate internet
connection or program. [Report a dead link]

- Canary , 248kb
Canary is a program that monitors Internet access and computer
activity on a computer. It has a number of safety features such as a
password of your choice can be compiled into the program. It records
where a user has been on the Internet and for how long, how many times
a user has visited a particular site in a day (and how long they spent
there altogether). It can also be set to do the same thing with
programs that are run on a computer eg. applications, games. . . Very
easy to use [Report a dead link]

- Dialguard , 252kb
Control the times of day the PC can access the Internet, or turn
Internet usage off completely. Also
ftp://ftp.sharewarecenter.de/web_u_net/dgsetup.exe. [Report a dead
link]

- ISP Timer , 19kb
Track the time spent online. [Report a dead link]

- Logtime
Tracks total cost for usage on an ISP. Very flexible options for
determining costs. [Report a dead link]
