Can I have a hidden (possibly passworded) folder that only a few people know
about on my site? I'd like myself or others to be able to upload/download
files to the hidden/secured folder so we can share files.
 
Contact your host hand see if the support FTP folders

Yes. Create a sub site. You can then password protect it. Check with
your host to see how this is supported.
