I have just installed a dial up connection on an oldish laptop. I am able to
get connected to my ISP because I get the balloon in the bottom right to
confirm this but Internet Explorer and Outllook or Outlook Express cannot see
this connection. I am sure I have the account set up OK in OE and if I could
at least get online with IE then I could get my mail from the website. Please
help I am sure I am missing something simple. Thanks

Well did you change the settings in both the IE and OE for the new ISP?.
How do you connect through a modem what anti-Virus you have?.
HTH.

Thanks nass I got your advice from the other section and i think most of my
problems were from that virus AOL. Once I had uninstalled as much of that as
it would allow me then it reliquinshed its grip on OE and IE and all is well!
Thanks again

Glad to help and good luck.
