When I installed the OneCare Beta on my RC2 Build 5744 installation it
turned off Windows Defender... does anyone know if this is by design or a
bug?

Hi Jel183(UK)

Having tried OneCare myself, and having read the notes about it, it is by
design; OneCare does everything Defender does and more!

Hi BurrWalnut,
Ah, that's interesting! I only ever installed it in RC2, so maybe in RC1
you need to do it manually! Because OneCare does it all(!) I'm wondering
why! However, let's not forget this is still BETA software so I guess
Microsoft are still working to get it right!
I do have RC1 on my laptop, so I'll give it a go!
Regards,
Mike

Protection-wise, Windows Live OneCare beta does handle the chores of Windows
Defender. However, the additional items you have access to through the Defender
interface are not available within OneCare.
