Wilma Flintstone

Hello all...I'd be VERY grateful for any assistance you can provide.
I'll do my best to cover all the necessary bases.

2 Desktops with XP Pro SP 2 on each through a Belkin 4 port (F5D6231-4)
Wireless Router but it is a wired connection.

Firewalls and Antivirus disabled and both computers appear in
DHCP Client List in the Router Setup

I've run all the Wizards and set permissions on the shared folders (as far
as I can see).

Before I go any further, I'll admit that before I got the router I followed
Black Vipers list of unnecessary services to be turned off.
I've since gone back and re enabled "Services" however it's possible there's
something else turned off as well ?

Here's what happens.

I can see and browse Computer 2 from Computer 1 however, when I try the
reverse (Computer 1 shows up in Network Connections) it hangs saying
"You do not have permission to use this network resource. Contact admin. "

I've Googled my tits off (sorry..) and I've seen lots of similar posts, and
I've tried
some of the suggestions, but nothing seems to work.

I've just run the setup wizard again , with new names, and the same
situation appears

Many thanks in advance for any replies!
Wilma

PS There's a big , juicy BrontoBurger with all the fixin's for the first
person to get it right!

First of all try this:
Sharing requires that you have proper credentials. So, you have
to log on in Windows machine with the username and password which
exists in the other machine.

Otherwise you can enable the guest Account on the machine and add
guests to the Users allowed to connect in Local Security Policy.

IF this doesnt work check the local security policy in
Administrative tools, and see that appropriate groups are allowed
to connect to network.
