I've seen some help about not being able to send mail but I can't receive.
I've spent an hour with the help file and tweeked but still no luck.
Everything is set up the same as outlook on my other box. Any thoughts?
Thankszu

You will need to provide some details, as we are not mind readers.
This is Windows Mail you're talking about, correct?
Is there an error message when you try to receive? If so, copy it and post it here.
When you click on the Send/Recv button, does it go through the motions of
contacting the mail server?
What happens when you send an email to yourself?
What antivirus program are you running, and it it configured to scan email?

iI TOO AM VERY UPSET WITH MY NEW COMPUTER I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO RECIEVE MY E-MAILS WHEN I CLICK ON THE SEND AND RECIEVE BUTTON IT APPEARS SO FAST THEN DISSAPPEARS SO FAST I AM NOT SURE WHAT IS GOING ON PLEASE I NEED HELP I DO NOT GET OUT DUE TO ILLNESS THIS IS MY WINDOW TO MY FRIENDS

Thanks for your response. Here's your answers:
You'll see there's not a lot of details. If there were, it'd be easy.
Yes. Windows mail. I assumed this forum is devoted to Windows Mail.
No error message whatsoever.
It "goes thru the motions" you describe
in less that one second (I mean super fast)
I receive emails sent to myself on my other computer.(Outlook Express 6)
I'm running the Norton trial(computer purchased yesterday). It'set to scan
mail both ways. Nothing unusual.
FYI I've downloaded all software and driver updates. Just a wierd deal that
it sends with no problem yet I'd have no clue I was being sent mail if I
didn't check on another machine.

First, read this: http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3
Then, as a test, uninstall Norton and try WinMail again.

If it still doesn't work:
It sounds like your older computer and your new Vista computer
are both checking the same email account. Under default settings,
if the older PC downloads the mail first, there is nothing left to
download for the Vista PC. If you want both to download the same
emails, configure them to leave a copy on the server.

I'd suggest installing a less intrusive antivirus program such as
the free AVG or Avast. Regardless of which antivirus program
you decide to keep, it must be configured NOT to scan email.

Thanks all for the suggestions.
I followed them all, still the same problem.
Thought about calling Comcast but instead downloaded Thunderbird 2.0.
Set it up exactly as I had set up Windows Mail and it works perfectly.
Oh well, it's not like I paid extra for W.M., did I?.....
Thanks all for trying.
