Hello,
I have a 56K modem connected on my server. I will be
creating a dial-up connection on my server and dialing up
another modem in another site to transfer some files.
What I want to make sure is that, the communication
should be done from my server to that site and no
connection request should be allowed from other sites to
my server. So if someone tries to dial to the modem I
have on my server, connection should not be established.
How can I make sure that?
Thanks,
Jim.

If you haven't configured RRAS on the server that the modem will accept
incoming calls, than your modem won't accept calls.

Marina,
How can I make sure that how RRAS is configured in my
server? I do not know anything about this subject yet.
Thanks,
Jim

Jim,

You can also configure the modem to refuse incoming calls. Check the
manual for the syntax, but it is normally "ATS0=0", i.e. set S0 ( rings
to answer) to zero, which is never. Then save this setting (normally
AT&W) so that it becomes the default if the modem is switched off.
