I have a peer to peer network. Running Windows XP Pro as
a gateway to the internet. I also have a Windows 2000
and Windows 98 pc connected to the network. All of the
computers are recieving IP addresses. All can connect to
the internet. The XP computer can browse the network
share folders E.T.C. The Win 98 and Win 2k computers get
the error message ( Incorrect password or unknown user
name for the XP computer when trying to connect to it in
any way. I have gone into administrative tools, Local
security policy and the section:

(Access this computer from the network) has the values of
everyone, administrators, power users, backup operators,
users.

All looks like it should be fine.

Please advise.

Regards,

Don Nelson

Create user accounts on XP with the same user name and password that
you use to log onto 98 and 2000.
