Hi and thanks,

My son recently complained to me he couldn't get on the Internet. I went to
check it out and I.E. didn't even try to open up. You just got this box in
the middle of the screen with an error that I.E. failed to open and do you
want to send the results to M.S. Just for the heck of it I logged him off
and logged on another user. I was then able to get right on the Internet with
I.E. I logged back on under his name and did a system restore from a few
days ago. It worked. My question is why could one person log on and another
not be able to. Both Administrators. Are they both not pointing to the same
ieplorer.exe file?

Thanks for any insight!

Probably a malware infection for the unlucky user. Do a thorough check for
malware, following all of the steps at one of these Web pages.

So How Did I Get Infected Anyway?
For quite a few people it's by installing Messenger Plus, whose ads for
malware don't identify the malware as such and try to convince you that you
owe it to the author. See also:

Don't ever do a "default" install of anything. Always choose Custom and see
what else is being carried along. Don't install any extras you're not sure
of.
