Howdy,
Prior to a recent power outage, our five Win 2000 Pro
systems happily shared an Internet connection.
We use a cable modem, and pipe it through a router to the
systems.
After the outage, as is typical, we lost Internet on all
systems, and so went through the (now familiar) drill:
We powered down all the systems, powered down the cable
modem, and powered down the router.
We then powered up the cable modem, then the router, and
then each of the systems.
All but one of the systems now has Internet access.
That one system just can't seem to reconnect properly (to
the Internet, that is.)
That one system sees all the others on our lan, and all see
it properly. File sharing is fine both ways to and from that
system.
I have run IPCONFIG /release, then /renew and it is again
assigned the same IP address. I have re-booted the system. I
have un-plugged its network cable and re-plugged it to
another port on the router.
Still, no luck.
I would welcome any assistance on this.
Sincere thanks,
