One report many tables

I'm a novice and I have mulitple tables that I would like
to combine on one report. The only field common in each
table is the ID field. I'm not understanding the
relationship issue very well and that could be my
problem.
Do I need to create relationships in order to create a
report with data from multiple tables?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kris,

In each of my tables there is a field called ID. This
was generated automatically. Can I use this field to
link each table to each other or do I have to create a
new one that is common to each like "Calibration Number"?
