One Outlook Shortcut for Each Outlook Profile

Hello All,

This is a long question and I hope it makes sense.

I am running Windows XP with all of the updates installed (automatic update
is enabled). I use Outlook 2003 SP2 (11.8010.6568). I posted here and
received an answer for putting two shortcuts on my desktop and setting up a
second PST fiile. Each shortcut was configured to open the appropriate
profile and it worked like a charm.

I recently installed the beta of IE7 and everything was still fine after that.

Now for the problem. I downloaded and installed the beta2 for Office 2007
(I cannot help it - it is an addiction). Unfortunately, after the install
the second shortcut was rendered inoperable. I uninstalled Office 2007,
re-installed Office 2003 and downloaded/installed all of the updates. When I
attempt to set up the second shortcut again I cannot change the "file" that
is referenced in the properties/data files/settings dialog box (not to
mention that I also lost the intial response with the workable solution
pre-IE7 and Office 2007 Betas).

I see that you can prompt for a profile when starting Outlook but can you do
it with two shortcuts? If so, any help would be greatly appreciated. And .
.. . if I can do it with Outlook 2007 I would like to try that as well.

Again - sorry for the long drawn out post - the more information the better?

Stiil works;

1) You can set Outlook to prompt you for a profile through Control Panel->
Mail-> button Show Profiles

2) Use the /profile profilename switch to start Outlook with that profile
For this create a new shortcut through rightclick on the Desktop-> New->
Shortcut and browse to outlook.exe Make sure you place the switch AFTER the
quotes e.g. "path to outlook.exe" /profile Outlook

You're welcome! :) And yes, it works for Outlook 2007 this way as well.
