I was hoping someone could tell me, My wife and I share an e-mail address but have seperate user accounts for Windows XP. Is it possible to each use outlook on our own XP account with out affecting the others outlook (ie deleting a messsage in one while not having it deleted in the others)

Yes you can. Move the pst-file to a location both can reach like C:\Outlook.
Now when you start Outlook it will ask for the pst-file location. Note that
only one can open Outlook at a time now as Outlook will lock the file for
that user.

Just as a relative amatuer, I would say it's not possible. You should
look at getting separate email accounts if you wan't to be able to do this.

Yes it is, read my reply?

That's exactly the opposite of what they asked, Roady. They wanted to NOT
interfere with each other.

Yes, but the only problem is if you separate your Outlook folders files,
when you sign on and get all your mail, you wife will not be able to see any
of hers that were in the batch and vice versa. You can tell Outlook to
leave all messages on the server for a period of time before deleting them
so you each can download all the messages, but then you'd have duplicates of
some messages.

I solved this problem by using a tool of my ISPs: subaccounts. I can have
up to ten email addresses under my main account, so each person in the
family can have his or her own address, but I can control them all under the
main account.

Depends on how you read the example (wether or not it is desired). Since
they had separate user accounts I figured they would have set it up on both
accounts already. Lack of information caused the confusion
