Hi,

We have two laptops at home. We share a DSL connection
through a switch. However, one laptop always connects to
the internet, and the other one sometimes connects and
sometimes doesn't when we turn them on.

In both computers LAN connection seems to be connected.
The difference is that, in one computer's LAN conncetion
properties, TCP/IP is assigned by DHCP, and this computer
can connect to the internet; in the other computer TCP/IP
is assigned as automatic IP address, and this one cannot
access the internet.

What can the problem be? Please help us!

Thanks

your isp may assign only one ip to you.it is better to add a router or setup
ICS. For more and other information, go to http://www.ChicagoTech.net
