By the way, I meant to say I don't believe there are any where near 2,000,000 files on my PC. More like 100,000 but maybe it is how one counts.
"SteveC" <sconklan.nospam.yahoo.com> wrote in message I went in and told WLOC not to check my external F drive with my backups on it and I also took out the MSOCache folder. Then I started tune-up manually and it finished in 5 hours and it defragged properly and the running meter on the Virus scan actually moved regularly instead of staying permanently blank. This may be a fluke, but it never seemed to work right when it initiated automatically. Try it and see what you think.
According to the final report, it claims that it scanned 2300834 items --yes, that is over 2 million!!! I looked at that number 10 times in disbelief. There are that many files on Vista? Surely that is wrong. I suspect that WLOC designed for XP is going to have to rethink what it scans and how or users won't stick with it.
BTW, I went to the WLOC forum and people complained there but got no where and nothing new added in 3 weeks and I got no response to my post of two weeks ago either.
Exactly the same symptoms. Takes at least 12 hours to scan and the defrag is
never complete. I would hope that these bugs will be fixed very shortly or I
might have to look elsewhere for my security products. I was trying out One
Care 1.5 because I thought it would work seamlessly with Vista.
