Hello,

Does Windows offer a download for the XP On-Screen
Keyboard? I have XP and think I need to re-install my On-
Screen Keyboard. Recently, after clicking shift to
change the case of a letter, it acts like shift is still
on, though it does not stay highlighted and the view of
the keyboard goes back to lowercase. If I switched from
typing in one program with the On-Screen Keyboard to
another program, it continues typing as if shift was on
and if I go to click on an item in a folder to open it,
it selects multiple items like you can when using the
shift-click method.

I saw your earlier question and hoped that someone who knows something
might answer. All I can do is guess since I'd never tried out the
on-screen keyboard.

Have you checked that none of the specialized Accessibility keyboard
settings are activated in control panel (in particular, stickykeys)? I
have no idea whether they also work with the on-screen keyboard.

Another area, although definitely a long-shot, is a deeply buried
setting in control panel regional settings which deals with the shift
key and capslock. It's under languages, details, key settings. Mine
(ordinary keyboard) is designated as turning off caps lock by pressing
the caps lock key. There is also an alternative of turning off caps
lock by pressing the shift key. I'm wondering whether something has
happened so your shift key is activating caps lock.
